PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Robin Burnett is quite an attractive young specimen. He has huge brown eyes that communicate and betray feelings all too well which are set under a fringe of thick black lashes and some thick eyebrows which Robin tends to arch in excess to show various emotions, interest, disbelief and amusement to name a few. He has very dark facial hair so even when he is clean shaven you can see the shadow of a beard and although his used to infuriate Robin, he has grown to accept it as part of life. He has quite a long nose and he wishes it was more angular.
Robin has quite thick, long hair that is nearly always hidden under a beige hat which all of Robin' friends have made clear that they hate. His hair is naturally straight and dark brown but Robin had it highlighted about a year ago and the highlights are growing out and fading into his normal hair, giving it a multi-tonal look. His hair brushes the back of his neck and goes right the way to the collar of most t-shirts. He hasn't had his hair cut in over a year and doesn't intend to. He has a smirky mouth, with quite full, kissable lips. His teeth are straight and white and the front tooth on the right has a chip in it which he got when his friend hit him in the mouth - whilst intoxicated - with a bottle of beer, trying to feed the beer to him whilst he typed. He is a little self conscious about his tooth and he runs his tongue over it obsessively when he's nervous.
Robin has very long limbs and a long body, he stands at around 5 foot 11 inches, which annoys him because he knows he will never reach six foot. He likes being taller than most girls and being not noticeably tall makes it easier to blend into a crowd - which is actually a good thing sometimes. Robin hasn't really got a set style when it comes to what he wears, he is open to most clothing. He loves skate shoes and he currently owns eight pairs, he tends to wear more band t-shirts and slogan t-shirts than shirts but if he does wear a shirt it would be plaid. His jeans are nearly all ripped to shreds and when he is told to "look presentable" his jeans always create the biggest problem.
In a rebellious stand, Robin had both of his ears pierced twice and since they healed, he hasn't worn earrings. He had his lip pierced for a day but took it out because it hurt too much and it annoyed him in his mouth. He wants a tattoo but he is unsure what of so he's postponing the date for the tattoo until he gets a design.

STRENGTHS:
Charismatic; Robin is a rather attractive young man. He had a beauty to him, this makes him fascinating to people and he has a real way with people. He’s good at making bad news sound like something you want to hear.
Optimistic; Robin always looks on the bright side of things, he doesn’t get down over the small things and can find a silver lining for the bad. It is rare to find this young man in despair!
Extrovert; Robin is always making friends, everywhere he goes, he'll make friends with someone. He hates being alone and as a result, he has to make friends. When he is alone, he's always texting someone.
Good communicator; Robin finds it easy to communicate his feelings; positive, negative, shallow, deep - whatever the thought is, Robin could tell you about it.
Trusting; Robin is trusting almost to a fault, he'd trust anyone with anything. If you ask him the right questions, he'll tell you everything. The only thing he trusts no one with is his secret.
WEAKNESSES:
Disorganised; Robin can never plan things properly, he isn't good at thinking things through or making decisions in advance. As a result, he finds it hard to be organised and this results in many problems.
Cocky; This young man, sincerely believes in himself. He knows that he is good at what he does, he knows that he is clever, he knows that he is attractive to others and as a result, he can be seen as quite arrogant. He really thinks that he's an amazing human being. People are good at fuelling his ego with comments.
Offensive; Robin has a real talent for offending people. It's hard to tell whether or not he means it, because usually he offends people by mocking them, or says it in a jocund way. This makes it difficult for people to decide how serious he is and how annoyed they are at his statements.
Anti-criticism; Robin hates to be criticized and can often hold a grudge when people have told him what he is doing wrong. It's one of his immense pet hates. He doesn't mind criticizing others, because his personal opinion is obviously so important that it needs to be heard.
Disloyal/Cheater; Robin is well known for being disloyal to his friends and a cheater romantically, it's not that he's vindictive, it's that he doesn't consider the consequences of his actions before he jumps in and acts.
FEARS:
» Robin's greatest fear is being alone. He hates to be alone for even a few minutes - he is always talking to someone and trying to contact someone when he's not surrounded by people. Robin is terrified that his inability to be loyal to people will result in him being completely alone in his old age.
» Robin is also afraid of most bugs. He hates creepy crawlies! He hates spiders and wool louse and all those sorts of bugs. Strangely, Robin is quite affectionate towards the “Daddy long legs” insect, who when you really think about it, looks a lot like a spider with wings. Being near spiders could easily reduce Robin to tears, he hates the way they move and look. He has really bad nightmares about being covered with spiders.
» Robin is worried about dying young – he lives quite a debauched and affluent lifestyle and as a result, there are quite a few health risks. He is concerned that he will get sick because of his partying and have to pay for it with his life. He hates the idea that he will have to face consequences for his actions.
PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION:
Upon first meeting, one of the first things that people notice about Robin is his irrepressible hope. He is a boy who really believes that things will get better, he knows that life is amazing and no matter that happens to people there will always be something good waiting around the corner. He believes that life will work itself out, and that no one needs to worry about how they’re going to get whatever it is that they want because in wanting it and pursuing it, you’ve already got what you should really be looking for – happiness. Robin is agnostic about religion, so his hope is not based in a higher being; it’s based in his own deep notions about life. He is the type of boy who will lie on his bed for hours, smoking weed and contemplating life.
Robin is not inclined to get depressed; he does not see the point in moping about one’s situation. Don’t get me wrong, he has felt depressed before, he just doesn’t stay in that self-pitying state for any lengthy period of time. He is more inclined to feel depressed if he smokes weed when he’s in a bad mood – the two do not mix well. However, Robin and bad mood are not two words you would often use in the same sentence. He is an upbeat person with a way of making you feel almost enchanted by his ever-present smile and his hopeful eyes.
Robin loves to joke around, make up fantastical stories and party. And he does all of these with almost alarming frequency. He has a strange sense of humour, finding almost everything funny and enjoying anything remotely surreal. He loves to make up stories that no one would believe but some people would find entertaining. Partying, drinking, drug taking and any other sort of decadent behaviour is what makes Robin tick. He loves to have fun (I’m not saying that people don’t) he loves the stereotypical teenagers idea of fun.
Robin’s main personality flaw is his submissive tendencies; he is more inclined to just go along with whatever is being said or whatever someone tells him instead of taking his own stance. Regardless, Robin finds that he encounters fewer arguments because of his submissive reaction to most confrontations and this makes him happier. However, this is not to say that Robin doesn’t take the initiative, in fact, Robin is inclined to take charge of his own life in most situations, he just doesn’t like to ruffle any feathers or make anyone angry. The exception to this rule is when someone confronts him about the way he is living his life – he doesn’t like being told that he’s going to die before he’s twenty and that everything he does brings him one step closer to death...but in reality, who actually like that?

HISTORY ESSAY:
Robin James Burnett was the second of four children that Elaine and Alistair Burnett were blessed with during the late eighties and early nineties. He was born of the eleventh of March nineteen-ninety-two, a full six years after his older brother Nicolas Jordan Burnett. Nick was always doting on Robin; he had nothing but adoration for the infant. Robin was brought up surrounded by the love of his parents and brother, this made him an amiable toddler. He was an average baby, learnt at the expected pace – perhaps slightly slower – and he wasn’t an especially attractive child. He was average, almost mediocre, but he was happy.
At school, Robin was one of the boys who had a small group of friends, but they were not the cool boys in school and they were often ignored by their peers. However, as they were in a group, the lack of attention didn’t bother them. Robin spent a lot of his spare time watching television with his brother and playing outdoor games – he hated computer games, he never understood the appeal or the obsession that some of his classmates seemed to have. When Robin was six years old, his mother gave birth to twin girls – Alyssa Elaine and Scarlett Roberta. Robin wasn’t sure what to make of his sisters; he thought they were quite fascinating but kind of disgusting at the same time. However, within a very short period of time, he found that he loved them both infinitely.
When Robin made his way to secondary school, he soon discovered that he was attractive to the girls in his year. He made it his mission to learn how to flirt with as many of these girls as possible. This resulted in him getting a bit of a reputation as a lady’s man – not unlike his older brother Nick. Nick was a rather unique personality, he looked a bit like a woman, but he managed to be accepted by all the boys because of his skill as a footballer, and he was doted on by all the girls he met because of his indefinable charisma. Sometimes, Robin found that girls were only getting involved with him in order to get a shot with Nick, who always managed to be in relationships with local celebrities and models and musicians who were usually a lot older than him.
Robin idolized his older brother until he was fourteen, which was the year that Nick left home to study art in London. Robin suddenly found himself without a role-model and this lead him to retreat into his friend circle and after a short period of time, he found himself dabbling with drugs. That isn’t to say that Nick going to art college directly resulted in Robin’s drug use, in fact, Robin had been toying with the idea for months before the opportunity even arose. Robin was the type of boy who could say no to anything he chose to say no to – he just didn’t often choose to refuse things. So before he hit tender fifteen, Robin was a regular pot smoker and a binge drinker.
Then disaster struck – during the summer following Robin’s seventeenth birthday, Robin’s parents told him that he was moving to America. Why? He’d asked. Patiently, they’d replied that Alistair had been offered a job at Apple and they had to move to Forks in Washington. Robin had never realized that there as a Washington state, so this was a major shock for him. Leaving Nick in London, the family set off for Forks. Robin is less than impressed so far, but he hopes that life is about to turn around. Robin is also interested in getting a job and moving out of the family home, let's see how that goes.

RP EXAMPLE:
Hearing her try to explain why they were there just made the knot in Robin’s stomach worse. He tried really hard to think of something to do. Some way to react that would be even mildly appropriate, but he couldn’t think of anything. Instead of saying anything or hugging her or reacting at all, he just stood in front of her looking blank and wishing he had the type of mind that allowed him to do something. It was decision time now. He had to think of what he wanted to do. She’d caught him out, she’d realised that he was a scum bag. Now he had to do something to either agree or disagree with her suggestions. Maybe you aren’t putting your all into it.” She was right. He hadn’t put his all into the relationship, shit, he’d barely put anything in.
The party. Robin had known that his party back at Taunton had been an issue for her, rightfully. He’d gotten up to some shameful things that night, he just hadn’t realised she knew it. When he thought about it, Robin realised that that was when things had really started to change for him. He could trace this moment back to the day after the party – the day she stopped calling. She’d been scared by Mellie’s affection for him. Again, rightfully. Mellie and Robin had history, they’d dated before Lee and Robin had, and they were bound to do it again. There was so much chemistry between them, Robin just figured Lee had never realised.
“Maybe it’s time for a break up.” Lee had suggested. Robin tried to identify how this statement made him feel. It didn’t make him feel surprised; it didn’t make him feel angry, it didn’t make him happy. It made him feel strange. He wasn’t relieved, he wasn’t sad. It frustrated him a little, knowing that they were over before they’d really began, knowing it was his fault that things had turned out to be crap. But he didn’t know how it really made him feel.
He wanted to say something helpful, something moving. He wanted to promise her things would get better, that he’d change. But Robin wasn’t sure he wanted things to change. He wasn’t sure of anything anymore. After a long pause, he ran his hands through his hair. What should he say? Where should he begin? “Lee, I-” he started, but he didn’t know how to finish. What did he want to say? “I guess we both stopped trying a while back.” he mumbled, but he didn’t know where he’d drawn this conclusion from. He bit his lip and looked at her again, her heart was breaking he could see it in her face. He had a feeling that this statement was a bit harsh sounding.
Robin shoved his hands into his pockets and looked out at the sea, he sighed. ‘Break, break, break, on thy cold grey stones o sea,’ he thought to himself, his English Literature teacher would be thrilled to hear him mentally quote Tennyson. “You think that we have grown apart” he said, he wasn’t sure if this was true, he just figured that they’d stopped trying, he didn’t think he’d grown at all. He cleared his throat and refused to meet her eye, “And I guess if you think that then a break up is our only way forward.”
